Early on in my career, I started doing concrete work as a general laborer along with other duties in the construction industry. After a few years of doing that, I joined up with my brother-in-law and we started a landscaping and concrete company. We did this for about 7 years until my partner moved and my wife, Laura and I had kids. When our first child was born I needed something more consistent than seasonal work throughout the year, so I joined the cement finishers union. When my wife and I had our second child we decided to do something together and with a booming housing market, we started building houses and selling them. We did 7 houses in total, which was great because it gave me a lot of experience and expertise working outside of the concrete industry. After that endeavor, I went back to the union and did concrete work again, along with other general construction duties. At this time my son Matt and his colleague had reached out with the idea of conceptualizing a company of their own. The three of us joined forces and started our own concrete finishing company, which has been very successful for over 10 years now.

While all of these career changes and life experiences were going on the one thing that always still needed to be done were those honey-do lists.
